Talk 3: Beautiful and Burdened Marriages
“When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the holy Spirit. 19 Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly. 20 Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home…. 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means “God is with us.” 24 When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home. 25 He had no relations with her until she bore a son, and he named him Jesus.
(Matthew 1:18-20, 22-25 NABRE)
“When they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you. Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.” 14 Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt. 15 He stayed there until the death of Herod…

Five Messages About Family
1st Message: Jesus Wants To Be Born in Your Marriage:
Have you allowed Jesus to be your center? When, Why, How?
2nd Message: A Married Couple Is Already a Complete Family.
If you don’t have children, how are you expanding your family?
3rd Message: Every Marriage Needs God’s Miracles.
Whatever your situation now—married, single, separated, widowed—(1) specify what miracles you need and (2) what water you will give to God that you want Him to transform into wine
4th Message: Evil Wants To Destroy Your Family
According to studies, the top reasons for divorce are: (1) Infidelity; (2) Money Problems; (3) Immaturity; (4) Addiction and Alcoholism. Behind many of these problems is the biggest reason of all: Lack of Commitment. Here’s the DNA of this culture: We value individual rights over communal responsibility. It’s a Me-First Culture. My freedom. My dreams. My comfort.
5th Message: God Sees Your Relationship with Him Like a Marriage. Marriage is so important, Jesus’ first miracle was in a wedding, turning water into wine.
Share a miracle in your marriage.
IV. PRAY FOR EACH OTHER
For Couples: Father, I pray that our marriage becomes a manger for Jesus.
For Everyone: Father, be born in our family! I pray that our family becomes a holy family. I pray that we expand our family for others, because You are our center. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Be blessed and continue to be a blessing;
Tyrone Dizon
